Malta’s artisans welcome you into their creative spaces

Malta will be participating for the second time in the European Artistic Craft Days (EACD), with artisans opening the doors to their creative spaces and inviting people in to view their crafts coming alive.

Through the initiative of the Malta Crafts Foundation, an interactive online map will be online, to  provide information on the location of artisans around the Maltese islands that will be taking part in the EACD.

The theme for 2024 will be ‘Little fingers, expert hands’, and seeks to encourage young people to explore with their family the streets of Malta and Gozo and discover the beautiful pieces of craft that surround them.
The interactive map will provide the public with a clear indication of where they can go to visit artisans and obtain further insight into their creative work and products – possibly even just around the corner or in the neighbouring villages.
Who knows how many times they would have passed by these artisan workshops unaware of the beauty that is being created within!

Most artisans will be organising specific workshop sessions and demonstrations throughout the week in order to provide visitors with a holistic view and a hands-on experience of the craft they love, the skill it requires, and the products that are created.
It is the Malta Crafts Foundation’s pleasure to collaborate with Malta-based artisans to showcase local creativity and innovation, whilst highlighting different aspects of Malta’s thriving cultural and creative economy.

Les artisans de Malte vous accueillent dans leur atelier.

Malte participera en 2024 pour la seconde fois aux JEMA. Les artisans d’art ouvriront les portes de leur atelier et inviteront le public à entrer pour voir leur savoir-faire prendre vie.
Grâce à l’initiative de la Malta Crafts Foundation, une carte interactive en ligne sera créée pour indiquer l’emplacement des artisans qui participeront aux JEMA sur les îles maltaises.

Le thème « Sur le bout des doigts » sera utilisé pour encourager le jeune public à explorer en famille les rues de Malte et de Gozo et à découvrir leurs magnifiques pièces d’artisanat.
La carte interactive fournira au public une indication claire des endroits où il peut se rendre pour rendre visite aux artisans et obtenir un meilleur aperçu de leur travail créatif et de leurs oeuvres – peut-être même juste au coin de la rue ou dans les villages voisins.

La plupart des artisans d’art organiseront des sessions d’ateliers et des démonstrations spécifiques tout au long de la semaine afin d’offrir aux visiteurs une vue d’ensemble et une expérience pratique de l’artisanat qu’ils aiment, des compétences requises et des oeuvres qui sont créées.
La Malta Crafts Foundation collabore avec des artisans basés à Malte pour mettre en valeur la créativité et l’innovation locales, tout en soulignant les différents aspects de l’économie culturelle et créative florissante de Malte.

L-artiġjana ta’ Malta jilqgħuk fl-ispazji kreattivi tagħhom

Malta se tkun qed tipparteċipa għall-ewwel darba fil-European Artistic Craft Days (EACD), bl-artiġjana jiftħu l-bibien tal-ispazji kreattivi tagħhom u jistiednu lin-nies biex jaraw l-artiġjanat tagħhom jieħu l-ħajja.

Permezz tal-inizjattiva tal-Malta Crafts Foundation, se tinħoloq mappa interattiva online, biex tingħata informazzjoni dwar fejn wiehed jista’ jsib l-artiġjana madwar il-gżejjer Maltin, li se jkunu qed jieħdu sehem fl-EACD.

L-inizjattiva kienet ispirata mit-tema għall-2024, ‘Little fingers, expert hands’, li tfittex li tħeġġeġ lin-nies biex jesploraw it-toroq ta’ Malta u Għawdex u jiskopru s-snajja sbieħ li nsibu madwarna u li, minħabba l-iskedi impenjattivi tagħna, ħafna drabi jkunu injorati!

Il-mappa interattiva se tipprovdi lill-pubbliku indikazzjoni ċara ta’ fejn jistgħu imorru biex iżuru l-artiġjana u jiksbu aktar għarfien dwar ix-xogħol u l-prodotti kreattivi tagħhom. Dawn possibilment anke jinsabu kantuniera ‘l bogħod minn darhom, jew anke fl-irħula ġirien, u min jaf kemm-il darba għaddew minn ħdejhom mingħajr ma kienu konxji tas-sbuħija li kienet qed tinħoloq ġewwa.

Il-biċċa l-kbira tal-artiġjana se jorganizzaw ‘workshops’ u dimostrazzjonijiet speċifiċi matul din il-ġimgħa kollha sabiex jipprovdu lill-viżitaturi b’ħarsa ħolistika u esperjenza prattika tas-sengħa li jħobbu.

Huwa ta’ pjaċir għall-Malta Crafts Foundation li tikkollabora ma’ artiġjana bbażati f’Malta biex turi l-kreattività u l-innovazzjoni lokali, filwaqt li tenfasizza aspetti differenti tal-ekonomija kulturali u kreattiva b’saħħitha ta’ Malta.
